Loratadine Allergy Products

Loratadine is used to temporarily relieve the symptoms of hay fever (allergy to pollen, dust, or other substances in the air) and other allergies. These symptoms include sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes, nose, or throat. Loratadine is also used to treat itching and redness caused by hives. However, loratadine does not prevent hives or other allergic skin reactions. Loratadine is in a class of medications called antihistamines. It works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms.

An allergy is when the body has a reaction to a particular food or substance and is affects more than 1 in 4 people in the UK at some point in their lives.

Common symptoms of allergies are: sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes (commonly hay fever), as well as itching (hives). Loratadine is an antihistamine medicine which is a popular treatment for allergies, such as: hay fever, eczema, hives and allergic conjunctivitis.

It can also be used to treat allergic reactions to insect bites and stings and some food allergies. Loratadine tablets and syrup can be taken at the first sign of symptoms (sneezing, running nose, watery eyes, itchiness), or over a period of time to prevent symptoms such as hay fever during a high pollen season to provide long-term allergy relief.
