Guedel Airways, commonly known as oropharyngeal airways (OPAs)
Guedel Airways, commonly known as oropharyngeal airways (OPAs), are rigid, curved adjuncts used to maintain or restore airway patency when patients are unconscious and prone to tongue obstruction. Size selection is based on measurement from the mouth corner to the jaw angle, ensuring the flange aligns with the upper teeth
Ideal for anesthesia, ambulance services, emergency airway management, and CPR support, these devices are used exclusively in unconscious or sedated patients to facilitate ventilation and prevent airway occlusion. Not suitable for conscious patients due to gag reflex stimulation.
