Alka-Seltzer Original Tablets are a form of treatment that helps to relieve pain. These tablets contain the active ingredient aspirin, which belongs to a group called Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs). These drugs are all painkillers that also help to reduce fever and also reduce blood clots. These Alka-Seltzer tablets are suitable to be used for a headache, fever, muscle pain, sore throats and indigestion.
Indigestion is most likely to be caused by certain food and drinks. The symptoms of indigestion include heartburn/acid reflux, bloating, feeling full, and feeling sick. Aside from eating and drinking, indigestion can also be caused by certain medicines, smoking, and alcohol.
These tablets can be used by adults and children aged 16 and over. They should not be used by anyone who is allergic to aspirin or any other ingredient contained in the tablets. They should also not be used by anyone who:
- Is allergic to any other NSAID
- Suffers from chest tightness or asthma
- Suffers from gout
- Has had a history of gastrointestinal disorders
- Has kidney, liver, and/or heart problems
- Is about to have surgery
